Can a grade be selected from the polymer name alone?
The service document asks for the exact grade, processing conditions, actual material temperature/residence time, formulation context and acceptance requirements. Start with these rather than a fixed universal model.
How should a replacement trial be organised?
Compare the current baseline, direct replacement, candidate with permitted process optimisation, and a second candidate or compound route. Keep batches and sampling conditions traceable.
Are odour, VOC and formamide the same test?
No. The supplied service description treats odour, ammonia, VOC and formamide as different evaluation items. Use the test and acceptance criteria specified for the finished product.
Does a small-trial result establish production performance?
No. Recheck batches, equipment/material temperatures, mixing, speed, pressure, mould/die, cooling and ageing during production scale-up.
Can every grade use the same packaging and transport details?
No. Packaging and safety/transport information must follow the exact model, current documents and actual order route. Do not transfer one powder’s details to a masterbatch.
Which documents should I request?
Ask for the current model TDS and SDS and the appropriate batch COA. A third-party report represents its named sample, date, tests and methods, not universal certification.
Is a fixed weight saving guaranteed?
No. The lightweighting source requires resin, geometry, wall thickness, mould, dose and process to be evaluated with retained surface, dimensions and mechanics.
What if the full formulation is confidential?
Begin with the material system, actual processing temperature, current agent and main issue. The team may need further non-confidential information before recommending a reliable trial.
